  • Steel Engineering Products - European engineering products manufacturer supplying b2b components to NASA, La Spirotechnique, Heineken, Air Liquide, and Decathlon stores worldwide. Key sectors included Recycling, Offshore, Mining, Steel, and Plastic Moulding. Issues varied from a dysfunctional supply chain, operations and sales structure that required change management to enable the business to turnaround from loss to profit (RoS 15%). Changes included supply chain agreement and disciplines, process modernisation of existing plant, introduction of new products and channels, organisational change within an embedded French trade union (comité d'entreprise) environment.

  • Steel & Polymer Products - Consolidation of European and UK manufacturing sites supplying carpenters metalwork to traditional b2b merchant and distribution channels. Business cash generation was poor therefore company wide improvements included site closure and integration, changes to working practices/methods, introduction of lean manufacturing methods and production automation, dynamic racking system, timed logistics, stock reduction, and service enhancement monitored by a suite of KPI’s. New products and and sales channel (DIY) requiring individual item bar code systems. Profitability (RoS 32%).

  • Steel Engineering Products - Brownfield site business start-up manufacturing engineered products aimed at attacking share of dominant market leader. Entire project management of site development and technology selection. Identification and management of supply chain, recruitment, production start-up (including lean manufacturing methods), stock build, system integration, and customer supply channel (including OTIF service standards). Profitability (RoS 23%).

  • Wooden Engineered Products - High value wood based products manufacturing business with b2b clients such as NHS, London Underground, and Pfizer. Turnaround including margin accretive acquisition and integration of brand leading competitor, site consolidation, supply chain, operational and customer integration, introduction of new technology, cost reductions, and margin enhancement (1 + 1 = 3) to achieve cash generation. Profitability (RoS 14%). Pre-sale preparation for trade sale exit and post transaction integration.

  • Ceramics, Polymers, & Glass Products - US based PE backed b2b and b2c multi-process business manufacturing high end consumer products for the UK & European markets. Operational modernisation and cultural change achieved significant headcount reduction and delivered sector leading yield (margin). Implementation of six sigma analysis across all areas of supply chain and process. Increased service standards and profitability. Profitability (RoS 18%)

  • Polymer & Composite Products - UK PE backed complex technology business manufacturing polymer and composite products for the specialist print industry. Clients included Muller, News International, Vogue, Hewlett Packard. Niche engineering tolerance products for global b2b markets that require high levels of quality and innovation. Enterprise turnaround from loss to sector leading profitability (RoS 27%). Key challenges included staff engagement, supply chain optimisation, facility consolidation (buildings, people, and equipment), creation of market leading automated conversion operation, implementation of new primary process technology, development of new products, reduction in stock (cash generation), and increase in sales revenues. Pre-sale preparation for trade sale exit to US PE backed market leader, and post transaction integration.

  • Wood, Composite, and Polymer Products - UK Private company manufacturer of architectural products for the domestic and commercial construction markets. Clients included Apple, Jay-Z & Beyonce, Louvre Museum, St Pancras Station, Ferrari World, and MoMa. Global projects requiring extremely high standards, quality and service. Margin accretive acquisition of competitors to form group and full integration of operations and systems (1+1+1 = 5). Sector leading cash generation through debtor management, and profitability (RoS 26%) underpinned by brand leadership, award winning new products and world-wide sales growth. Sales channels included b2b and b2c. Pre-sale preparation for trade exit to separate US market leading private companies including comprehensive post transaction integration and handover.

  • Plastics, Ferrous, and Non-Ferrous Materials - UK Private company recycling business acquired from corporate carve out. Transformation of business to best in class technology and sector leading cash generation/profitability (RoS 29%). People engagement and modernisation of the facility and introduction of “reverse manufacturing” - improved standards and culture. Introduction of KPI’s, new processes and yield enhancing recovery methods all compliant within the UK Regulatory guidance and framework. Sales channels were b2b and b2c with growth resulting from new partnerships including Europe’s largest electrical retailer and a renowned global retail brand. Pre-sale preparation for trade sale exit to US PE backed UK market leader. Full post transaction integration and re-development of the facility.
